We're excited to announce the ContentPen MCP Server, letting AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT research keywords, write and publish articles, and check your visibility directly from your workspace, plus BigCommerce publishing, a significantly expanded Public API covering AI Visibility, Search Console, keyword research and content flows, and a round of speed and accuracy fixes across AI Visibility and Content Refresh.

🤖 ContentPen MCP Server

Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, or any MCP-compatible assistant to ContentPen to research keywords, write and publish articles, and check your visibility, all through conversation. Hosted clients like Claude.ai and ChatGPT connect with OAuth sign-in, so there's no token to copy.

Find your server URL and a setup guide for each client in Settings → API & MCP.

Each action counts toward your API usage, and credits and plan limits are checked before any request is spent.

🛍️ BigCommerce Integration

ContentPen now integrates with BigCommerce, letting you publish articles straight to your store's built-in blog.

Connect it from Integrations → BigCommerce with a guided three-step setup: create a Store-level API account in your BigCommerce control panel, set the Content (modify) and Information & settings (read-only) scopes, then paste your API path and access token into ContentPen. Once connected, BigCommerce works like any other publishing destination.

📡 Public API Expansion: AI Visibility, Search Console & Keyword Research

The Public API and MCP tools now cover AI Visibility, Search Console performance and opportunities, and keyword research, plus content flows: publish outlines, check article status, schedule articles, and manage versions. Full reference in the API docs.

🔧 Improvements & Fixes

AI Visibility:

  • Faster dashboard loading - The AI Visibility dashboard now loads noticeably faster after we removed redundant queries and fixed slow scans behind the competitor and source gaps views.
  • Source gaps now count only confirmed competitors - Source gaps are no longer inflated by sources that don't belong to your confirmed competitors, so your outreach lists are more accurate.
  • Tag filters no longer double-count - Filtering by tags now produces correct totals instead of counting the same prompt more than once.
  • Corrected prompt visibility scores - Prompt-level visibility scores are now calculated correctly, and rankings that tie now stay in a consistent order instead of shifting between loads.

Content Refresh:

  • YouTube embeds are now preserved - Refreshing an article no longer drops the YouTube videos embedded in the original article.
